How to Create Zones Using vMax 5
How to create Zones using vMax 5
- With vMax 5 you can create a Zone on a map and search for buses that went through that zone at a certain date/time. This will allow you to investigate issues where you don’t know the Bus number, but you know when and where it happened.
- Navigate to www.vmaxlive.net
- Login with following info:
- Fleet ID: minnemn01
- UN: Provided by MVTA IT
- PW: Provided by MVTA IT
- Click the Magnifying glass icon on the left-hand side of the window:

- Change the Type ID to Zone
- Next click Set Custom Zone

- A map will launch. Use the scroll wheel on your mouse or the + and – buttons to zoom in to the area that you want to create the zone. You can also click and drag to move the map.
- Click four points on the map around the intersection that you want to investigate and then click Create Zone.

- After the zone is shaded in, click Ok.
- Next fill in the Date and Time (military time) that you want to search.

- Click Search.
- If less than 5 buses went through the zone they will all show up on the map. If more than 5 went through the zone, you can select up to 5 at a time to view by checking the boxes next to the bus #

- The color arrows indicate which bus it is and what direction it was heading. If you click on an arrow, it will let you know additional information like the Speed of the bus, etc.
- After you determine which bus you need to download from, use the Archive Manager section of the website to schedule the download. More detailed instructions are available in the document “How to Schedule Video Downloads using vMax 5”
