How to Use Promo Codes in RideMVTA

See attached guide from Kuba. The guide is dated 2021, and is aimed at GoPass -- but it is accurate for RideMVTA as of this writing other than that.

Promo codes only ever apply to a single ticket in your cart. A code for a free ticket, even if the parameters would let you redeem it multiple times, will only apply to one ticket per checkout. This is on the list of proposed improvements, but the current workaround is to (1) avoid indicating we can do multiple tickets per promo code (design the promo differently) and/or (2) advise customers to purchase tickets with the promo code one at a time.

Note on limits:

Max usage is the total times the promotion (not necessarily the code) can be redeemed in total. For single-code promotions, this is straightforward. For multi-code promotions, this is not the number of times a code can be redeemed, it's the number of codes that are part of the promotion.
Max user usage is the total times the promotion (not necessarily the code) can be redeemed by a particular user account. For single-code promotions, this is how many times a single user can reuse that code. For multi-code promotions, this does not let them use a single code multiple times -- it lets them use multiple codes.
To sum up: The limits are always about limits on the promotion itself, not specific codes. Multi-code promotions are always single-use codes, and the limits control how many single-use codes can be used.
